Using DevAcademia

Signing in

DevAcademia is passwordless - there are no passwords to create or remember. You sign in with just your email address: enter it and choose either a 6-digit code to type in, or a one-tap sign-in link sent to your inbox. You can switch between the two at any time.

Passkeys - a faster way back in

Once you’ve signed in on a device, you can add a passkey - Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware security key - for quicker sign-ins next time. A returning device offers a “Sign in with a passkey” shortcut, and you add or remove passkeys later under Settings → Security.

A passkey is an add-on to your email account, not a separate login - your email is still how the account is identified.

Creating an account

New here? Choose Sign up / Create an account, enter your name and email, and confirm with the emailed code or link. Submitting the form is how you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are linked right on the page.

Your dashboard

After signing in you land on your Learning dashboard, with a menu down the left and your theme switch, notifications, and profile menu across the top. The main area shows summary tiles, a Continue learning row that picks up where you left off (with a progress bar per course), and panels for your enrolled courses and recent tutorials.

If you’re brand new with nothing enrolled yet, the Continue-learning row stays hidden - head to the Catalog to find something to start.

The sidebar & switching areas

The left sidebar is grouped by what you’re doing:

• Dashboard - your home, plus personal items like your submitted feedback and (where offered) privacy tools.
• Learning - your enrolled Courses, a To-do list (Assignments, Quizzes, Tutorials), and your Progress.
• Teaching - courses you run and a To-grade queue.
• Catalog - Browse all, Courses, and Tutorials to discover new content.
• Authoring - a content Library, your Drafts, and Reviews.

Numeric badges show counts (like assignments due), and empty sections tend to hide themselves. Your profile menu (top-right) switches between workspaces - Learning, Projects, and, only if you have the right role, Organization Admin. If you belong to more than one organization, a switcher at the top of the sidebar changes which one you’re in.

Notifications

A bell in the top bar shows a badge with your unread count; open it for your most recent notifications. Clicking one opens the related item and marks it read, and there’s a Mark all read. A full notifications page (“View all”) lets you filter and page through your history.

Notifications cover things like feedback on content you own, a project being shared with you or a comment/merge on it, updates to reports you filed, and announcements. On the Preferences page you can turn each type on or off - independently for the in-app bell and for email.

Profile & settings

Your Profile page sets your display name, timezone, and avatar initial. Your email is fixed and shown as read-only - contact support if it ever needs to change.

Settings

• Appearance - Light / Dark / System, applied instantly (there’s also a quick sun/moon toggle in the top bar).
• Email notifications - coarse switches for account activity, course updates, and a weekly digest (the detailed per-type controls are on the notifications Preferences page).
• Security - manage your passkeys and Sign out of all devices.
